Students seeking internships outside of Arizona are responsible for securing an internship with a government or nonprofit agency.
- For out-of-state internship approval, email the ±¬ÁϳԹÏÍøInternship Coordinator Laureana Jones (laureanajones@arizona.edu).
- Students are encouraged to use Handshake to seek out-of-state internship opportunities.
- Students can also search for job listings through search engines, or by going directly to a county, city, state, or other government/nonprofit career site.
Remote internships are conducted virtually, requiring students to work independently. Working independently demands students to be self-starters, highly organized, maintain superb communication by email or instant messaging, and have excellent time management skills.
Students who do not have previous job experience are not encouraged to intern remotely.
Applying for internships can be a competitive process. Therefore, submitting an excellent resume and cover letter will increase the chances of securing an internship of interest.
If you need help drafting a resume or cover letter, students can have their materials reviewed by ±¬ÁϳԹÏÍøor the Student Engagement and Career Development Office (SECD).
