Every year, The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans supports thirty New Americans, immigrants or the children of immigrants, who are pursuing graduate school in the United States. Each Fellowship supports one to two years of graduate study in any field and in any advanced degree-granting program in the United States. Fellows receive up to $90,000 in financial support toward their graduate education. The award is divided into tuition support ($40,000) and stipend support ($50,000). Tuition is paid directly to the university and stipends are paid to the Fellow. Fellowship support is spread out over two academic years (four semesters or six quarters). Tuition covers a maximum of 50% of tuition and fees. The first year of Fellowship funding cannot be deferred. Most importantly, new Fellows join a strong community of current and past Fellows who all share the New American experience.

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) empowers women and girls by championing their success in higher education and pushing for bold policy solutions to create lasting change. For more than 140 years, AAUW has led the fight for gender equity in higher education and beyond. With a strong record of advocacy and action, AAUW continues to break barriers and defend the rights of women in education and the workplace. Though we are nonpartisan, we are not values-neutral: We fight to remove the barriers and biases that stand in the way of gender equity. AAUW provides critical funding and support to advance equity in education and improve the lives of women and girls both in the U.S. and internationally. And we advocate for federal, state and local laws and policies to ensure equity and end discrimination. We offer several fellowships, including: American Fellowships ($8,000-$50,000); International Fellowships ($20,000-$50,000); and Selected Professions Fellowships ($20,000).

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Science, Technology and Policy (STP) Program serves as a next step in the educational and professional development of scientists and engineers by providing opportunities to participate in policy-related projects at DOE's Office of Nuclear Energy (NE) in Washington, D.C.  Participants will become part of a group of highly-trained scientists and engineers with the education, background, and experience to be part of the workforce that supports the DOE's mission in the future.  You will have opportunities to enhance your quantitative and qualitative reasoning, critical thinking and problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills. You will receive training, mentoring, and additional support to effectively accomplish internship goals. Participants will receive a stipend to be determined by NE, and are typically based on the participant’s academic standing, discipline, experience, and research facility location.

UA Tech Launch Arizona and the Graduate College collaborate to provide U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident degree-seeking graduate students (main campus only) to gain practical startup company and technology commercialization experience. The selected Fellow will receive an hourly wage from Tech Launch and $10,000 Graduate Tuition Scholarship from the UA Graduate College that will apply to the fall and/or spring base graduate semester tuition during the Fellow’s tenure as a Student Entrepreneurial Fellow. Please note if the Fellow is concurrently appointed as a graduate assistant/associate (GA) at .50 FTE or higher, the tuition award will not apply due to the full tuition coverage provided as a benefit of the GA appointment. Applicants must be degree-seeking graduate student admitted to a main campus Master’s or doctoral program at the University of Arizona.
